Crew chiefs with the 169th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, S.C., respond to a simulated aircraft mishap with a crashed F-16 fighter jet and UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter during a Crash, Damaged, Destroyed Aircraft Recovery (CDDAR) exercise on January 31, 2012. F-16 parts that were damaged during the accident are covered to protect personnel from exposure to hazardous material. The training was important for all personnel involved due to the reality of the scenario, with the base sharing both air frames.
