U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (March 2, 2019) Engineering Aid 2nd Class Molitau Faumuina and Construction Electrician 3rd Class Prudenz Velasco, both assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 133, Detachment Bahrain, utilize a rescue saw to cut 1” from all sides of the spall to prepare the site for final repairs during airfield damage repair (ADR) training. ADR is a unique mission set consisting of rapid deployment of materials, equipment, and personnel in a manner that provides repair of craters and spall damage for existing airfields. This event provided realistic training to further prepare personnel and improve existing skills to execute an ADR mission when the occasion arises.
