CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait – Army Capt. Charles Preidis, an ordnance office with the 272nd Regional Support Group, Michigan Army National Guard, participates in physical fitness training before going on a Value of Life ruck march at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, March 11, 2019. Soldiers ruck marched 3 kilometers while stopping at four checkpoints. At each checkpoint, several Soldiers who were carrying sandbags swapped them with other Soldiers in the group to continue ruck marching. This act simulates carrying a burden in life and helping each other with that burden. Value of Life training is a supplemental program to the annual suicide prevention and awareness Ask, Care, Escort training. U.S. Army Central hosts these types of events to demonstrate its enduring commitment to Soldiers’ health, welfare and morale. (U.S. Army Reserve photo by Sgt. Christopher Lindborg)
