Aviation Machinist's Mate 2nd Class Alvin Zuilan, originally from San Diego, chops away at a block of compressed snow, while helping create a snow sculpture of "The Lone Sailor." The Navy Misawa snow sculpture team is in Sapporo representing Naval Air Facility Misawa, and is building a snow sculpture for the city's 63rd Annual Sapporo Snow Festival. This is the 29th year that Navy Misawa has taken part in this festival, located on Hokkaido Island, Japan's northernmost isle.
