    Lance Cpl. Ronald Russell, assigned to the Marine detachment, and Utilities Man 2nd Class John Thompson, assigned to Navy Mobile Construction Battalion 23, embarked aboard High Speed Vessel Swift, level measure prefabricated walls. The boards will build walls that will be used at a school in Zona De Acapulco and Ancon, as part of Southern Partnership Station 2012. NMCB 23 will spend three weeks refurbishing two schools in the area with service members in the Peruvian Marine Corps of Engineers. HSV-SPS 12 is an annual deployment of U.S. Navy ships and assets to the U.S. Southern Command's area of responsibility in the Caribbean, Central and South America. The exercise involves information sharing with navies, coast guards and civilian services throughout the region. It also reiterates the countries' partnership and commitment to regional cooperation throughout Latin America.
