Steel Worker 2nd Class Rejuny Caswell, assigned to Navy Mobile Construction Battalion, embarked High Speed Vessel Swift, and a service member from the Peruvian Marines Corps of Engineers break up space in between a crack and a school being built to level the compound base. Boards will be placed over the crack to build floors and walls that will be used at a school in Zona De Acapulco and Ancon, as part of Southern Partnership Station 2012. The engineers will spend three weeks refurbishing two schools in the area with U.S. service members aboard Swift. HSV-SPS 12 is an annual deployment of U.S. Navy ships and assets to the U.S. Southern Command's area of responsibility in the Caribbean, Central and South America. The exercise involves information sharing with navies, coast guards and civilian services throughout the region. It also reiterates the countries' partnership and commitment to regional cooperation throughout Latin America.
