Utilities Man 2nd Class John Thompson, assigned to Navy Mobile Construction Battalion 23, embarked aboard High Speed Vessel Swift, arranges prefabricated floorboards that are loaded onto a truck. The boards will build floors and walls that will be used at a school in Zona De Acapulco and Ancon, as part of Southern Partnership Station 2012. The Seabees will spend three weeks refurbishing two schools in the area. HSV-SPS 12 is an annual deployment of U.S. Navy ships and assets to the U.S. Southern Command's area of responsibility in the Caribbean, Central and South America. The exercise involves information sharing with navies, coast guards and civilian services throughout the region. It also reiterates the countries' partnership and commitment to regional cooperation throughout Latin America.
