190305-N-IK388-0048 NORFOLK (March 5, 2019) U.S. Fleet Forces (USFF) 2018 Sailor of the Year (SOY) finalists pose with their type command master chiefs and mentors during the SOY board interviews at the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside hotel. USFF is hosting its SOY Week March 4-7, where competing Sailors will participate in interviews, team building events, leadership training and culminates in the announcement of the Fleet Sea and Shore SOY during an announcement breakfast March 7. The sea component winner will travel to Washington, D.C., to be meritoriously promoted to chief petty officer, and the shore component winner will advance as a finalist to compete for the Chief of Naval Operations Shore SOY.
