SAN DIEGO (March 1, 2019) Hull Technician 3rd Class Nicholas Sveine, from Santee, Calif., assigned to Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47), hugs his daughter after returning to homeport. Rushmore, of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group, returned to its homeport of San Diego following a successful eight-month deployment to the U.S. 5th and 7th fleet areas of operation.
