Campofiori, from Brick Township, New Jersey, was diagnosed with Leukemia at age 11 and went through chemotherapy during his five-year battle with the cancer. When his cancer went into remission at age 16, he decided to pursue a career in the Marine Corps. He arrived at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina on December 10, 2018 and is scheduled to graduate on March 8, 2019. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Staff Sgt. Bryan Nygaard)
