A member of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) 34th Infantry Regiment out of Camp Itazuma in Gotemba, Japan, scans the area surrounding a defensive fighting position (DFP) during Guard and Protect 2019 at Yokota Air Base, Japan, Feb. 28, 2019. In the event of an intruder, JGSDF personnel would utilize their training on Size, Activity, Location, Unit, Time, and Equipment (SALUTE) reports to communicate the attack with the 374th Security Forces Squadron.
