Silver Scimitar 2012, the largest theater-level human resources exercise in the U.S. Army, kicked off on Jan. 20 with more than 15 units from all over the country participating. The two-week exercise, began in the mid-1980s, covering a range of critical human resource support services to Soldiers on the battlefield, to include postal, personnel and casualty operations. On Jan. 23, Master Sgt. Terry Dowdy (left), postal finance officer with the14th Human Resources Sustainment Center, Fort Bragg, N.C., provides an overview on postal inspections to soldiers who will put to practice his instructions when they deploy. The exercise culminates in a hands-on event testing all aspects of human resources functions.
