Emil Reich, a 99 year old World War II veteran and Purple Heart recipient, receives the French Legion d’Honneur by French Consul General Lebrun-Damiens, Feb. 22, 2019 at the Idaho State Capitol Building in Boise, Idaho. Idaho National Guard members, along with Lt. Gov. Janice McGeachin and many other members of the community joined Reich as he received France’s highest award for his efforts in WWII after landing on the shores of Normandy on D-Day.
