Marines with Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Platoon, Headquarters Company, Headquarters Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, and a Sailor with Headquarters Company, Headquarters Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, perform a high angle rescue at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 13, 2019. This course certifies Marines and Sailors to conduct rope and confined rescues in accordance with National Fire Protection Association Standard 1006. The certification allows platoons to participate in joint and interagency operations throughout Indo-Pacific Command for Defense Support to Civil Authorities and Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction.
