Crews inspect anti-aircraft artillery damage to the left wing of a Douglas C-47 Skytrain “Jungle Skipper” after returning from an airdrop in Corregidor Island, Philippines. Despite the heavy enemy anti-aircraft fire, the disciplined Airmen of the 317th Troop Carrier Group recorded a 95 percent effectiveness rate getting paratroopers and their bundles onto their assigned drop zone.
