U.S. Army Spc. Anna Tran of Atlanta, a human resources specialist with the 461st Human Resources Company, was the winner of the 642nd Regional Support Group Best Warrior Competition at Fort McClellan, Ala., Jan. 20, 2019. The three days of intense competition tested the candidates through events such as rifle marksmanship, day and night land navigation, a ruck march, physical fitness test and senior NCO board. Pfc. Romaz Jones of Ocilla, Ga., a force protection Soldier with the 642nd Regional Support Group, was the runner-up in the competition. Tran is now eligible to compete in the 143rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) Best Warrior Competition and Jones will take her place if she is unable to attend. Other candidates were Pvt. Steven Countryman of Greenville, Ala., Pfc. Gwendolyn Lewis of Atlanta and Pfc. Ugochukwu Nnaji of Huntsville, Ala., of the 282nd Quartermaster Company. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. 1st Class Gary A.
