Several state and local emergency management organizations came together for a two-day event that began with detailed capabilities briefings and culminated in a tabletop exercise involving a Category-4 tornado touchdown inside San Antonio. The exercise was designed to offer the agencies an opportunity to evaluate current resources, plans and capabilities needed to respond to catastrophic events and ensure a fully integrated and coordinated response if it ever becomes necessary. JTF-71 attendees included several members of the 6th Civil Support Team, 6th Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Enhanced Force Package as they are the a part of the FEMA Region VI Homeland Response Force and will be working directly in conjunction with CBIRF.
