U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Alessandro Carter, 18th Civil Engineer Squadron water and fuel systems maintenance craftsman, directs a JASDF? heavy machinery operator during bilateral training on the Rapid Airfield Damage Recovery process, Feb. 12, 2019, at Kadena Air Base, Japan. The 18th CES Operations Flight maintains 23.4 million square feet of facilities, 17 dormitories, jet fuel storage tanks, 61,000 linear feet of piping, 13.5 miles of aircraft fuel lines, 107 generators supporting critical facilities, 1,000 miles of potable water, and 780 miles of overhead and underground electrical distribution lines.
