U.S. Army Col. Morris Goins, a native of Southern Pines, N.C., commander of the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Task Force Spartan, was the guest speaker during the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. observance held at Forward Operating Base Salerno Jan. 16. Goins believes King's use of knowledge is what made him a great man.
