A Marine with Combat Logistics Battalion 24, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, fills out a temporary identification form during Humanitarian Assistance training Jan. 13, here. During the training the Marines screened role-players and carried out the administrative processes involved with providing them food and shelter. During Humanitarian Assistance operations Marine Expeditionary Units have the ability to provide temporary food and shelter to refugees. The day of training served as a smaller part of the Realistic Urban Training exercise, scheduled to take place Jan. 5-20. The exercise serves to prepare and certify the Marines and Sailors of the 24th MEU for the various operations they may conduct during their upcoming deployment.
