Sgt. 1st Class Daniel Crody, a Cotopaxi, Colorado native who is a shooter/instructor with the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit's Instructor Training Group works with a drill sergeant of 2nd Squadron, 15th Cavalry Regiment, 194th Armored Brigade, which is stationed at Fort Benning. The March 2018, week-long course covered everything from fundamentals to holds to minute of angle positions. The drill sergeants also spent time gathering data and refining shooting positions on a Known Distance range, which enhances training by providing instant feedback to the Soldiers on their performance. With this experience, the drill sergeants will be better prepared to instruct marksmanship skills to the thousands of trainees they will see while on the trail. Training various Soldiers and service members from across the Department of Defense is something our Instructor Training Group is dedicated to.
