A U.S. Navy SH-60 Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the Ridgecrest-, Calif., based 2515th Air Ambulance Detachment, circles above Camp Virginia, Kuwait, in front of a setting sun while it receives a radio transmission requesting assistance for a simulated medical evacuation of a soldier. Soldiers from the Brainerd-, Minn., based 1st Combined Arms Battalion, 194th Armor conducted medevac training Jan. 11, 2012, to practice radio transmissions with a real helicopter crew as it approached the designated landing zone, patient hand-off, and to see the impact of helicopter propeller wash and engine noise.
