U.S. Army Reserve Spc. Kherryn Lapuz, a HMMWV commander with the 242nd Quartermaster Company, based in Conroe, Texas, verifies her crew is ready to conduct live-fire during Operation Cold Steel III at Fort Hunter Liggett, Calif., on February 10, 2019. Vehicle commanders must synchronize the crew members to ensure safety and reduce risk during live-fire ranges. Operation Cold Steel III trains and qualifies Army Reserve Soldiers on M2 .50 caliber machine guns, M19 40 mm automatic grenade launchers and M240 7.62 mm machine guns weapons systems in ground and mounted military vehicles, in order to provide lethal and combat ready units ready to deploy anywhere in the world.
