Petty Officer 1st Class FMF SW Trevor Guevara, a surface independent duty corpsman with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, finishes administering an IV to Lt. Trenton Baker, the battalion surgeon for CLB-31, during a Combat Life Savers Course aboard the USS Ashland, East China Sea, Feb. 11, 2019. Guevara, a native of Lake Elsinore, California, graduated from Elsinore High School in June 2010 before enlisting in December that same year. Baker, a native of Tucson, Arizona, graduated from Northern Arizona University with a master’s degree in Physician Assistance Studies in August 2015 before commissioning in July 2018. CLB-31 provides security, logistics, and transportation as the Logistics Combat Element for the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU partnering with the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
