Lt. Benjamin Towers, assigned to the military detachment, and Tech Sgt. Andrew Clark, assigned to the medical detachment aboard High Speed Vessel Swift, helps repair and customize a wheelchair with Eri Kusano, a physical therapy graduate student from California State University at Northridge. The military and medical detachment from Swift worked with the students from Northridge at Hope Haven Guatemala to provide customized wheelchairs to children and assistance to those patients who have physical and mental disabilities such as scoliosis and cerebral palsy. The subject matter exchange was part of HSV-Southern Partnership Station 2012. HSV-SPS is an annual deployment to build partnerships in the Caribbean and Latin America.
