1st Lt. Shelby Grant, is one platoon leader out of many who is participating in Ram Focus, which is a battalion level exercise meant to analyze, coach and grade the effectiveness of the platoons in many different lanes at the Fort Bliss Training Area, New Mexico, Feb. 8. Grant is on one lane where he needs to mark locations to build a defensive perimeter and communicate his advancement across many levels. He must make sure everyone on the site knows their roles and responsibilities as well as keep his higher headquarters informed of any progress as well as hindrances. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt.
