Sailors and department of Navy civilians assigned to Naval Information Forces, Joint Staff – Hampton Roads, Joint Naval Network Warfare Command, U.S. Cyber Command South and Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command gathered to listen to Ms. Beth Austin, a registrar and historian for the Hampton History Museum during a ceremony to observe National African-American Black History Month held Feb. 5.Austin’s areas of research include colonial Virginia, the early Atlantic World, religion in early American, and the history of slavery. The event concluded with a potluck spread organized by the multi-cultural committee and an opportunity for attendees to tour the historical displays set up through the Hall of Heroes.
