U.S. Army Reserve Sgt. David Fraire with the 812th Quartermaster Company, instructs Spc. Anick Tiemtor, an Army Reserve automated logistical specialist with the 242nd Quartermaster Company, on how to conduct a functions check of the M2 .50 caliber machine gun during Operation Cold Steel III at Fort Hunter Liggett, Calif on February 7, 2019. Soldiers must learn how to properly assemble, disassemble, load, unload and operate machine guns before going to the live-fire range to qualify. Operation Cold Steel III trains and qualifies Army Reserve Soldiers on M2 .50 caliber machine guns, M19 40 mm automatic grenade launchers and M240 7.62 mm machine guns weapons systems in ground and mounted military vehicles, in order to provide lethal and combat ready units ready to deploy anywhere in the world.
