U.S. Air Force basic training trainees from the 331st Training Squadron construct backpacks, Jan. 18, 2019, at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. The Backpack Initiative provides immediate gear, normally purchased at the base Exchange, for trainees during basic military training.
