190204-M-YD783-0080 GULF OF ARABIA (Feb. 4, 2019) Alpha Company Marines with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit ride in an MV-22 Osprey as a part of Tactical Recovery of Aircraft and Personnel training. The 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment Marines conducted TRAP training as preparation for entering combative areas and retrieving or destroying sensitive material as well as recovering personnel. Marines and Sailors with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit and Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group are deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
