Lance Cpl. John W. McCallum teaches a class on disassembling machine guns aboard USS Makin Island here Jan. 2. McCallum, a Seattle native, serves with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit's Battalion Landing Team 3/1. The Camp Pendleton, Calif., unit deployed from San Diego, Nov. 14, as part of a regularly scheduled deployment to the Western Pacific and Middle East regions.
