U.S. Air Force Maj. David Way, an F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter pilot for the 169th Fighter Wing at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, S.C., speaks to a reporter about the South Carolina Air National Guard-hosted North American Aerospace Defense Command-sponsored air defense media day, Jan. 29, 2019 to showcase how NORAD coordinates with federal, state and local agencies to support various special security events such as this year’s Super Bowl in its ongoing commitment to safeguard North America’s skies. During this all-day event, various national and local news personalities will experience an inflight simulation of a NORAD-coordinated exercise with the Federal Aviation Administration and S.C. Wing – Civil Air Patrol over military training airspaces in South Carolina and Georgia.
