190128-N-WI365-3024 PHILIPPINE SEA (Jan. 28, 2019) – Landing Craft, Utility (LCU) 1633 prepares to be grounded in the well deck of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) during transportation of Marine vehicles and equipment as part of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) training. Ashland, part of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
