Cpl. Jordan Bennett and Sgt. Bailey Fulmer assemble a Combat Rubber Raiding Craft during a time trial and competition to build Combat Rubber Raiding Craft aboard the dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48), Philippine Sea, Jan. 21, 2019. Bennet is an infantry assault Marines and Fulmer is a rifleman, both with Alpha Company, Battalion Landing Team, 1st Battalion, 4th Marines. Bennett, a native of Huntington Beach, California, graduated from Edison High School in June 2009 before enlisting from in 2015. Fulmer, a native of Lincoln, Nebraska, graduated from Lincoln North Star High School before enlisting in July 2015. Alpha Company Marines specialize in ship-to-shore small-boat raids as part of BLT 1/4, the Ground Combat Element for the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU partnering with the Wasp ARG, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
