Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Kelsey Marvel, a drill instructor at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina, teaches drill to Recruiting Station Indianapolis poolees, Jan. 12, in Indianapolis. Female members of the delayed entry program came together for training consisting of a partial fitness test and drill movements. Marvel gave the future Marines a preview of the rigors and stresses of recruit training. She is a native of Evansville, Indiana. The delayed entry program, also known as the DEP, a program whereby individuals going into active duty in the United States Armed Forces enlist first in the DEP before they ship out to recruit training.
