190114-N-DX072-1081 PHILIPPINE SEA (Jan. 14, 2019) – Col. Takahiro Sakamoto, 15th Helicopter Unit Commander, Col. Masateru Kabemura, 15th Brigade Deputy Commander, and Capt. Tom Shultz, commanding officer of the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20), observe a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter, assigned to the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF), landing on the flight deck of the Green Bay during deck landing qualifications. Green Bay, part of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, is operating in the region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
