Gary Thomas, the assistant commandant of the Marine Corps said at the ceremony. “Without the steadfast efforts of our Marines on special duty assignments, we would not be as successful of a fighting force as we are today.” Brawn earned the prior service recruiting substation staff non-commissioned officer in charge (SNCOIC) of the year award. Pryor earned the prior service recruiter of the year award. Jennings earned the recruiter of the year award. Hughes earned the recruiting substation SNCOIC of the year award.
