Gunnery Sgt. Grant Brawn is recognized as the prior service recruiting substation staff non-commissioned officer in charge of the year by Gen. Gary Thomas, the Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps, during the Commandant of the Marine Corps’ 2019 Combined Awards Program ceremony aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, January 11, 2019. Brawn earned the award for aiding the seven Marines under his charge to recruit over 280 Marines in one year — 30 more than the required mission.
