Marines with Bravo Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, push towards their objective during a raid training scenario Dec. 18. The Marines were inserted on Camp Lejeune from amphibious ships of Amphibious Squadron 8 positioned 3-5 miles off the coast of North Carolina with the task of assaulting an enemy position inland. The training was a culminating event as part of Composite Training Unit Exercise, a three-week exercise with 24th MEU embarked at sea to develop cohesion with PHIBRON 8 in conducting amphibious operations, crisis response, and limited contingency operations while operating from the sea.
