Iowa Army National Guard 1st Sgt. Sara Robinson conducts a brief after action review with 135th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment Soldiers Jan. 5 at the Ignit Sport fitness center in Grimes, Iowa, after an introductory techniques training for the upcoming release of the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT). The ACFT is scheduled to replace the current Army Physical Fitness Test of pushups, sit-ups and a 2-mile run. The ACFT will have six events, including: strength deadlift; standing power throw; hand release pushups; sprint, drag, carry; leg tuck; and 2-mile run. Robinson said the training was an educational session to understand and identify the standards. As the unit first sergeant, she said she will share more information about the upcoming test as it becomes available, but encouraged the Soldiers to begin training for the six events on their own. The Army announced in July 2018 the ACFT will become the physical fitness test of record no later than October 2020. (Army National Guard photo by Spc. Lisa Crawford)
