A drill instructor from Instructional Training Company demonstrates the proper way to execute an arm bar take down during a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program session at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Jan. 3. One of the purposes of learning MCMAP is to teach recruits basic offensive and defensive techniques, and this gives them the opportunity to master the moves in preparation for the MCMAP test later in training. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Lima Company is scheduled to graduate March 15.
