Sgt. Wisner D'Meza, a rifleman and watch chief for I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), Camp Pendleton, Calif., was 11- years-old when U.S. Marines shook his hand outside his house in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, during Operation Uphold Democracy in 1994. Today, D'Meza is U.S. citizen living out his dream as a fellow warrior looking forward to an upcoming spring deployment to Afghanistan.
