U.S. Marines with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and Navy Sailors with the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) from the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23) volunteer to help prepare vegetables at the Akshaya Patra, Unlimited Food for Children Centralized Kitchen in Visakhapatnam, India, Dec. 24, 2018. As part of the Essex ARG, the USS Anchorage and 13th MEU are conducting a partnership strengthening visit to Visakhapatnam, India. The Essex ARG and 13th MEU are a capable and lethal Navy-Marine Corps team deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to support regional stability, reassure partners and allies and maintain a presence postured to respond to any crisis ranging from humanitarian assistance to contingency operations.
