Lance Cpl. Meyvis Hawkins, Lance Cpl. Dustin G. Hawkins, a Monteca, Calif. native, 2nd Lt. Mark A. Ferris, and members of the Okinawa Police Station stand together after the award ceremony at the station in Okinawa City, Okinawa, Dec. 9. The award was for Dustin when he helped end a crime that was in progress in Okinawa City. A service member perpetrated the crime and a resolution was quickly reached between the suspect and the property owner. Ferris, a watch commander, and Dustin, a patrolman, work for the Provost Marshal’s Office, Marine Corps Base Camp Butler, Marine Corps Installations Pacific.
