Tom Shultz, commanding officer of the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20), explains the ship’s medical functions to Japan’s National Diet House of Representatives Security Committee members. The committee visited the ship as part of a tour of Commander, Fleet Activities Sasebo to understand how Sailors live and operate at sea. Green Bay, part of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, is forward-deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response for any type of contingency.
