U.S. Marines with subordinate commands under III Marine Expeditionary Force prepare to conduct Special Patrol Insertion and Extraction and Helicopter Rope Suspension Techniques training on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 18, 2018. SPIE rigging, fast roping, and rappelling allow Marines to enter and exit landing zones that are too dangerous for helicopters to safely land on.
