Blue, a naval information warfare officer from High Point, N.C., volunteered to deploy to Iraq with the Army's 2nd Infantry Division so he could serve with the same unit his father did during the Korean War. Blue is a battle captain with the 2nd Battalion, 17th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team.
