U.S. Marine Maj. Brendon Burkes, the ground forces commander in Puerto Barrios, Guatemala of the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force, thanks the Guatemalan special forces for allowing them the opportunity to learn from each other and the opportunity to continue to strengthen an already existent partnership during a welcoming ceremony held on Nov. 24. The ceremony was held to officially welcome SPMAGTF and the upcoming subject matter expert exchanges that would take place. SPMAGTF is participating in Amphibious-Southern Partnership Station 2012, an annual deployment of SMEE teams sent to the U.S. Southern Command's area of responsibility.
