“Everything that happens on the flightline would come through me. Our day to day was usually just keeping track of what was happening with the jets at Tyndall. We would know the status of every aircraft, what jets have taken off, what jets have landed and even which jets will become ‘hangar queens’.
Right now we’re just in recovery. We’re trying to salvage what equipment we can from the destroyed buildings and seeing what files can be recovered. After that, we’ll try and move to another building to set up shop.
This is my first day back after the evacuation. My hope is that instead of this defeating Tyndall, we use it as an opportunity to improve. This whole ordeal could give us the opportunity to make Tyndall better than it was and upgrade some of the facilities.”
