NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Nov. 30, 2018) Machinist’s Mate 2nd Class Joshua Rakes, from Macomb, Michigan, assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford’s (CVN 78) reactor department, receives an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist certificate from Cmdr. Emily Bassett, Ford's reactor officer, during a promotion ceremony in the ship’s forecastle.
